During my studies at Gamagora, I was asked to work as part of a team on the development of a board game.
Although this type of game is not my preferred field, we successfully carried out this project while each of us integrated our own identity into it.
We chose to design a card game, so that it would be simple to access and easy to play as a family. The use of tokens helps improve the readability of the game, but they remain optional. The game is set in a historical context, with the idea if the project were to develop of creating collectible cards representing different nations and eras. This direction was naturally highlighted thanks to my background in history.
The game was designed as a mix between the card game La Bataille and Yu-Gi-Oh!, combining simplicity of rules and strategic depth.
Within the project, I actively participated in the game design, working on the mechanics, the flow of matches, and the balancing in order to make the experience enjoyable to play. I also created the illustrations, with particular attention paid to the readability of gameplay information on the cards, as well as making them visually appealing in order to imagine a future collectible card game.
The game was very well received within our class, and the team is fully satisfied with the result: a game that we can truly play as a family and that we can proudly say is our own.
